If you are a credentialer who needs primary source verification of certification for physicians, the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) is the best place to start.
You can get more information at ABMS Solutions, which offers a variety of online resources for checking board certification, depending on your needs. Also, you may contact ABMS Solutions by email at sales@abmssolutions.com, or by phone at 1-800-733-2267.
However, if you need verification of a dermatologist’s certification when ABMS resources are not available, you can contact us at the ABD for written verification.

You must include the physician’s full name, date of birth, and a recently signed release from the physician in question. Please also include the address to whom the verification should be mailed or faxed.
The fee for written verification is $35 per name, payable by credit card (American Express, Discover, VISA or MasterCard).
